Koh Panghan – Part II August 20, 2007

… as i already wrote – we arrived there. the bungalow was really nice and for about 8 € per night relatively cheap. we had no time to rest because already the first night was party-time. Half-Moon-Party. in the middle of the jungle. but before getting there we had a warm-up-party at the resort.

 we also got some black-light colours from the resort. it is kind of a tradition, that everybody has this paintings on there body….some of the guys even let me do some of the work…:

 

what are half-moon-partys (or black and full-moon)? many young travelers in thailand are looking for some special entertainment. because, for example ko samui, got more turistic every year, all the backpackers are now eluding to Koh Panghan – which is now the main point for partys in thailand. it is not just famous for all the parying going on – but also for less prostitution then elsewhere. Onother main point are drugs. You can consume them on the island in every form you can imagine. as the big hotels are (not yet) there – all the small beaches are still very lonesome.

the next day we rented some motorbikes – because we wanted to get to the other side of the island. for 2-3 € per day the rent is affordable. on the 11.August i had my accident on the way home from down-town-dinner. everything happend very fast. i was very lucky that on the one side not more happened and on the other side, that my new friends were a great help. i got kind of first-aid at the local clinic. the next day i had to go to ko samui to the bangkok-hospital-samui (very very good hospital). there i had X-Ray and some other treatment.

 the next days – until my flight home to bangkok on the 18. august – i was basically doing nothing. laying around the whole day. tomorrow i will get my stitches removed and hopefully my collarbone is fine (it still hurts a lot). than i will go into the pool every free minute to catch up for the time i missed…

 Angela and Andrea are already at the University, having there premiere-lecuture. lucky me – i start at 11:20 on Mondays :-)  Today I have Cyper-Marketing in the morning and Thai-Language in the afternoon. Hopefully the lectures are interesting…..

Koh Panghan – Part I August 19, 2007

i am back.

first of all let me tell you what happend the last two weeks.

everything startet when i met this dutch girls during the orientation days. they invited me to come with them to Ko Phanghan. What the fuck is Ko Phangan? Well – it is whitout doubt the most exciting, most peaceful, most perfect place i have ever been to.

Oh – I almost forgot – for everybody who is still not convinced that Thailand is a aweful hot country shoult see that:

when you look at the “car-heating-temperature thing ” you will see – there is no heating system necessary…… :-)  (I recognized that on the way to the airport…)

with the low-cost airline Air Asia we went  to Surat Thani, which the smalles airport i have ever seen. even my trainstation at home seems to be bigger. but we arrived save and everything went very smooth. from there we went by bus 3 hours to the ferry station – than another 3 and a half hours by ferry and finally we arrived at our final destination. the island……. to be continued.

i am in bangkok since the 3th of august. met some people from holland. at the moment i am on a island i do not know the name of. it is very small but really cool. there are no families – just young people from over the world. i have big strange animals in my bungalow – which i am scared of. but this is my only problem at the moment.
